Awarded The BrandLaureate International Personallity Award 2016, (equivalent to a Grammy) as a world class wildlife photographer by The Asia Brands Foundation, receiving the award alongside Adele, Keanu Reeves and John Simpson.
David has appeared in the BBC's Rhys Jones Wildlife Patrol, UK and International series to which he was also wildlife cameraman, consultant & photographer, he has also appeared on Springwatch.
Winner of the 2011 Welsh Wildlife Photographic Awards, finalist of the 2014 European Wildlife Awards beside receiving many other credits for his work.
Based in Somerset and Dorset he travels the UK photographing and working with wildlife projects, some of his work being featured in the BBC's online Wildlife Magazine.
April 2018 David was filmed taking his first television interview talking to world famous fossil collector Steve Etches about his father who was a photographer for a new documentry series called Plumbing The Depths.
Autumn 2018 he was filmed by ITV's Coast & Country program talking about his work while photographing red kites and beavers.
David had his first major exhibition kindly hosted by The New Forest Heritage Centre, Lyndhurst in September/October 2019, which was the most sucessful exhibition ever held at the venue.
His first book called Wildlife Wanderer was released March 2017. His second book,, Wildlife Wanderings (Halsgrove, published October 2020) with jacket cover blurb by the iconic Dr Jane Goodall, rear blurb by Bill Oddie, foreword written by world famous palaeontologist Dr Steve Etches and through Pinewood film producer Pete Sheppard, David Attenborough read the pre print proofs.
David Bailey is also a feature writer for magazines including The Countryman Magazine, Blackmore Vale Magazine, Dorset Magazine plus others.
2021, David has been a regular guest on Radio BBC Hereford & Worcester, Kate Justice Show talking about photography and wildlife, enticing people out into the countryside.Filming of nightjars is planned for June, for a ITV Wales Coast & Country feature . He has a another exhibition starting in October running until January 2022 at the New Forest Heritage Centre.
