David Bailey Award Winning Welsh Wildlife Photographer

Born and raised within a working New Forest farming family, moved to Wales many years ago, living in mid Wales, I have a deep love for nature and the countryside.
After years of hard and sometimes very cold work I have been lucky enough to have been named as The Welsh Wildlife Photographer 2011 by the Wildlife Trust for the photo of two otter cubs fighting.
Am also the winner of the Peoples Choice, Professional Category, of the 2011 National Marine Photography Competition, Highly Commended 2012 Hawk Conservancy photographic competition.
2013, The Cage & Aviary newspaper February issue, published a feature about my photo of the three barns owls in their hole.
I have appeared in a feature in the second program of BBC's Rhys Jones Wildlife Patrol 2013 series, working with Barn Owls which were daytime hunting, photographs from the program can be purchased from this site.
Rhys program is now going to be shown on prime time television, 7.30, BBC1, 26th June, or you can go to the links section of this website to watch the program.
The second Rhys Jones Wildlife Patrol series has been commissioned by the BBC, I have been filmed once again for the new series working with Rhys to be shown 2014, also going to be working in the background on new stories, as a consultant.
Made an appearance on Springwatch in the Afternoon, with Nick Baker, encouraging people to get out into the countryside to take photos, and also a solo piece on Springwatch Extra.
My main interest is photographing Welsh Wildlife, I am invited to other parts of the UK to work with various wildlife projects and this year, also been invited to Ireland to hopefully capture images of Pinemartins.
Recently been asked to become the official photographer of the Welsh Pinemartin project, one of the largest wildlife projects to be undertaken in Wales which will take several years work. There has also been a major breakthrough with the reintroduction of Red Squirrels in north Wales which I have been asked to photograph later in the year
I am also occasionally employed to cover events including agriculture shows, sporting events, and recently by Tesco, meeting and photographing well known faces from sport, acting, Tv & Royalty.
Photographs can be purchased online from this website, or direct from myself at one of the many shows I exhibit at during the year, please find the list of events by following the link on the homepage.

I could never thank all those who have been so helpful to invite me onto their land from farmers to the National Trust and large private estates, the show organizers who promote my work, the wildlife projects who trust my work, the individuals and companies, that have pushed me and my work to be seen and recognized.
